Detox clinics “doling out too many drugs” – as only 1% of patients are referred to rehab

The main fault found was over/mis-prescribing methadone as the CQC government watchdog criticised 63% of the 68 independent organisations it inspected. Ex-NTA and current PHE director Rosanna O’Connor admitted that the residential sector treats only 1% of patients in the system.  The CQC did hail StreetScene’s Allington House as “a good practice example of a residential rehab and detox service”.
