Increase in genetic risk of breast cancer triggered by alcohol

University of Houston showed alcohol enhances the actions of estrogen in driving growth of breast cancer cells and diminishes effects of the cancer drug Tamoxifen on blocking estrogen by increasing a cancer-causing gene called BRAF.
