This is part of a wider drug prevention initiative launched by the United Nations Office of Drugs & Crime, the World Health Organisation and the governments of France and Sweden at April’s UN General Assembly Special Session on the World Drug Problem (UNGASS). More on the idea behind this can be found at http://bit.ly/25jwTZ8.
As in previous years, UNODC is providing a series of materials for use on the World Day. These include:
- a) The thematic logo, in two versions (as well as in .jpg and vector file formats), available from http://bit.ly/1TYpaI0;
b) A Public Service Announcement video aimed at both online and broadcast: http://bit.ly/1XUYi1j; and
- c) A social mediapack, with infographics highlighting points around drug prevention (http://bit.ly/1ZcjTAO).
As and when ready/available to us, there will also be:
- d) Statements of the UNODC executive director and the secretary-general (which will be found at http://bit.ly/282mx29).
Finally as 26 June this year falls on a Sunday, it is likely that World Day events – including ones conducted by UNODC offices – will fall on either the days before or after.
