Call for methadone overhaul to tackle Scottish drug death crisis

Professor Neil McKeganey believes, with justification, that the methadone programme used on 26,000+ Scots is incompatible with a society awash with street drugs like etizolam, Xanax, and prescribed drugs. He slams the SNP Government’s use of “harm reduction” to keep people “parked” on prescribed drugs for years or even decades with no clear exit strategy.
