Parents’ drinking negatively affects over 3rd of children

The Institute on Alcohol Studies reported in Alcohol and Alcoholism, reports that 3/5ths of 997 parents surveyed said they had consumed alcohol to cope with depression and to escape problems, while 95% drank alcohol to relax or feel happier. But there was a significant link between alcohol consumed by parents and increased negative experiences for children who witness them in a drunk or tipsy state.
