Survey of 650 people’s experiences on antipsychotic drugs

University of East London found that 14% of participants reported purely positive experiences, 28% mixed experiences, and 58% only negative ones. They identified 3 main negative themes: ‘adverse effects’, ‘unhelpful interactions with prescriber’ and ‘withdrawal/difficult to get off them’. The 2 positive themes were ‘symptom reduction’ & ‘sleep’. The mixed theme was ‘short-term good, long-term bad’.
