US drug overdose deaths more than quadrupled 1999-2020

The US suffers from its highest overall death rates in over a century, fuelled in part by drug overdose mortality. The origins of the current epidemic are due in part to a 1986 World Health Organization pronouncement that pain treatment is a universal right, Florida Atlantic University stated (and legalization disinformation, DB News adds).
