Childhood memories: more stable than thought

King’s College London research showed that retrospective self-reports of maltreatment are overall highly stable, more in clinical samples than the general population. Authors Professor Andrea Danese and Oonagh Coleman shared details of childhood abuse memory research in The Conversation. Relevant as childhood abuse is linked to later addictive behaviours to cope.
