CDC “likely underestimated” counterfeit drug deaths

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that counterfeit pill use in overdose deaths more than doubled July-September 2019 to October-December 2021, and tripled in western US states, with 93% of those deaths involving illicit fentanyl.
