Former health minister Jon Ashworth was awarded an OBE for his advocacy work with children of alcoholics. Marcus Fair, founder of Eternal Media, a charity supporting addiction recovery, was awarded a MBE in the King’s New Year’s Honours list, as was Dr Frances Akor of UK Anti-Doping.
