NSPCC: parents’ substance misuse

The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children said it was contacted over 9,000 times last year about concerns related to parents’ drug or alcohol use. In the same period, 73,250 children in England subject to a Child in Need assessment were identified as having a parent who misused alcohol, the Dorset Echo reported.
