Opioid dependence in Scotland

Public Health Scotland published that the estimated number of people with opioid dependence in Scotland was 43,400. Among males aged 15-69 years, the prevalence of opioid dependence was estimated to be 1.59% and among females 0.68%. An estimated 65% of people with opioid dependence received opioid agonist ‘therapy’ at least once during the year.
