UK alcohol issues are rivalled only by former Soviet countries

Abbeycare used data from the World Health Organization to rank the countries that drank most alcohol: 40% of the UK population drink heavily and episodically over the course of a month, exceeded only by Russia (1st place) and neighbouring Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Estonia, Moldova and Poland.
