Professor John Kelly’s Recovery Research Institute analyses University of Toronto et al’s Deep brain stimulation of the nucleus accumbens in the treatment of severe alcohol use disorder: a phase I pilot trial concluding that it “shows some early signs as a potentially safe and helpful treatment for patients with severe and refractory alcohol use disorder”.
