“Addiction to short-termism” put NHS future at risk

The Health Foundation, Nuffield Trust and The King’s Fund wrote to the leaders of the UK’s 3 largest political parties stating: “75 years after its creation, the National Health Service is in critical condition. Pressures on services are extreme and public satisfaction is at its lowest”. Certainly, its stance on treating addiction is based on short-term targets and budgets.
