Average drinker spends £62,899 on alcohol

A  survey commissioned by Alcohol Change UK showed that the average drinker in the UK spends about £62,899 on alcohol over their lifetime. The survey also revealed that 19% considered alcohol “essential” – this rises to 39% of drinkers considered to be at increasing risk of alcohol harm, and 65% at high risk. 9% prioritised alcohol over essential items.
