Soaring severe alcohol-related liver injury during lockdowns

Washington State University found that the boom in alcohol sales during Covid lockdowns had dire consequences: inter alia, patients aged 18-44 suffered a nearly 20% jump in hospital admissions for alcohol-related hepatitis and in-hospital deaths rose 24.6% in 2020 compared to 2019.
