Patients misinformed about electroconvusive therapy

A 2nd audit confirms that ECT information leaflets in the UK are misleading about serious risks and limited benefits – and thus truly informed consent has not been given, Professor John Read of University of East London revealed in Psychology Today. ECT is used on about a million people annually, mostly women and older people.
