Ireland: plans for alcohol ignition interlocks

A personal alcohol breath-test device for drivers that automatically prevents a vehicle from starting if the individual is over the limit could be introduced in Ireland before the end of 2024. Alcohol ignition interlocks are an action plan in the government’s Road Safety Strategy and included in Minister of State for Road Safety ministerial priorities.
