Oregon decriminalization paper: conflict of interest

A paper has been touted as showing that drug decriminalization in Oregon increased overdose deaths non-significantly – but that contradicted a more rigorous study (Spencer)—as well as the CDC Wonder data. It also stopped looking at data from March 2022 when overdoses rose. Now we learn that an author, Haven Wheelock, was a chief petitioner of M110: a “huge conflict of interest”.
