No evidence cannabis reduces long-term illicit opioids use

Another study confirms that cannabis should not be considered an effective long-term strategy for reducing opioid use, this time from Australia’s University of Sydney which followed 615 people with heroin dependence, many of whom also used cannabis, over 20 years. It is the longest to look at the link between cannabis and illicit opioid use.
