Canada: social cost of alcohol addiction outweighs government revenue by $6billion

The Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction showed that, in 2020, net government revenue from alcohol sales was $13billion – and the net social costs from alcohol use were $19billion, leaving Canadians with a $6billion alcohol deficit, including health care, absenteeism and criminal justice.
