Alcohol is dangerous. So is “alcoholic”

Massachusetts General transplant hepatologist Wei Zhang says he wants his colleagues to think before they speak – given their bias against the word “alcoholic”. This can harm the overall treatment process and patient outcomes. He wants the word changed, eg in “alcoholic cirrhosis”.
