The Office for National Statistics has published Deaths related to drug poisoning in England and Wales: 2023 registrations. In England and Wales, 5,448 deaths related to drug poisoning were registered in 2023 (4,907 in 2022) – 3,618 were from drug misuse, with 46.8% involving an opiate, followed by cocaine.
