Pandemic-era rise in alcohol use persists

Alcohol use increased during Covid lockdowns and remained elevated afterwards, according to a large nationally representative University of Southern California study. From pre-pandemic (2018) to the height of the pandemic (2020), heavy alcohol use among Americans rose by 20%.
