Anti-opioid groups are “optimistic”about Trump’s tariffs

US anti-opioid campaigners welcomed president-elect Donald Trump’s threat to hit Mexico, China and Canada with higher trade tariffs if they do not curb smuggling of the powerful drug driving the US opioid epidemic that claimed about 900,000 lives. But they also warn that more needs to be done to reduce demand and rein in Big Pharma.
