8 years after releasing its controversial 2016 opioid guideline and 2 years after revising it, the CDC plans a review of its impact on patients, caregivers, doctors and the practice of pain management. The CDC opened a public comment period ending 17 January 2025 to evaluate the updated 2022 guideline.
