Overdose deaths in Medicaid beneficiaries double other populations

In 2020, Medicaid beneficiaries accounted for 25% of the population (81,071,574 of 329,484,123 citizens) but 48% of all overdose deaths nationwide: their death rate was 54.6 per 100,000 people (44,277 of 91,783 overdose deaths) – twice as high as the drug overdose rate among all US residents (27.9 per 100,000), Open Minds writes.
