Substance use and suicide mortality

The Rand Corp et al published Association of substance use with suicide mortality: An updated systematic review and meta-analysis. They found that people who misuse substances are at 5.58 times higher risk for suicide than controls. The link is stronger in females than males. Alcohol, cannabis, opioids, amphetamines and tobacco misuse increase suicide risk.
