The American Society of Addiction Medicine published The Joint Clinical Practice Guideline on Benzodiazepine Tapering: Considerations when benzodiazepine risks outweigh benefits. BZD use leads to increased risk for falls, motor vehicle accidents, cognitive impairment and overdose (particularly when used in with opioids).
