Gambling: a growing problem

A rise in gambling addiction threatens bettors and athletes, Healio warned. According to the American Gaming Association, legal wagers will rise to an estimated $3.1billion on tournaments, up from $2.7billion in 2024. The results follow a Lancet Public Health commission calling for stronger gambling policy.
