US drug overdose deaths rise again after hopeful decline

For the 1st time in over a year, street drug deaths appear to be rising across the US, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The latest data, compiled in January, shows fatal overdoses over the previous 12-month period rose by about 1,400 deaths. “We are working on analyses to better understand geographic trends.”
