Drug crimes are up in Canada

Statistics Canada says the rate of police-reported drug crime is up for the 1st time in 12 years despite cannabis legalization reducing arrest records. The report said there was a 13% national rise in the drug crime rate 2023-2024, partly due to increases in possession and trafficking charges involving cannabis, cocaine and opioids other than heroin.
