Drug deaths in healthcare workers

Worldwide, about 600,000 deaths were attributable to drug overdose in 2019 – and a US population-based cohort study found that counsellors, social workers, psychologists and other community and social service workers have more than twice the risk of fatal drug overdose as people working outside healthcare.
