Revealed: Alarming reasons behind Britain’s alcohol death crisis, ran the Mail Online headline. It cited research in the Lancet journal which found that 4,000 extra people died from alcohol 2020-2022. Reasons given were alcohol is easier to get hold of, alcohol is more affordable than even in 1987, and women are drinking more.
