Legislation around ordering alcohol online is “outdated” and needs to change according to Ruth Jones MP. She urged that legislation when ordering alcohol online be updated. Online alcohol sales in the UK are governed mainly by the Licensing Act 2003. Sellers must hold a Premises Licence, and legal requirements mandate that age verification and intoxication checks occur at the point of sale and final delivery.
