The Psychotherapy and Counselling Union issued a press release in response to Andy Burnham’s announcement of plans to overhaul mental health services in England – the following day there were reports that many NHS providers are planning cuts to mental health services to help plug funding gaps. The union asked for urgent talks with the PM and his government to save the crisis-ridden sector.
