Not-for-profits have central role in behavioral healthcare field

Over the last 10 years, there has been a 400% increase in residential treatment and 30% growth in demand – but in the past, when profitability left the treatment industry, the large “for-profits” exited the field. What remained were the historic not-for-profits and those for-profits committed to recovery for their patients, rather than return on an investment.
