Long-term impact of PTSD on recovery from heroin dependence

This paper examines the impact of current and lifetime post-traumatic stress disorder on long-term recovery from heroin dependence among participants who took part in the 11-year follow-up of the Australian Treatment Outcome Study. It found that attempted suicide, depression and traumatisation were significantly higher among those with current PTSD.
