Alcohol disorder screening tests fail in weight-loss surgery patients

People who undergo Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery, a common type of bariatric surgery, are at increased risk for alcohol-related problems – but common screening tools that help physicians identify patients at high risk for alcohol use disorder fail to work well in this population, according to University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health.
