Roseanne is killed off – with opioid addiction

The Connors showrunner Bruce Helford opened up about why he and his team chose to kill off Roseanne Barr’s character the way they did. The premiere episode of The Conners took place 3 weeks after her funeral; her family learns that she became secretly addicted to painkillers while recovering from an operation, and died from an accidental opioid overdose.
