Abstinence/reduction in illicit drug use can increase viral suppression of HIV

Abstinence from the use of illicit drugs including marijuana, cocaine/crack, methamphetamines, and opioids is linked to viral suppression of HIV, according to University of Washington et al in a study of 12,492 people living with HIV. Reducing methamphetamine and opioids also helped this.
