Global cocaine production at all-time high, soaring 25% in a year

Global cocaine production hit record levels in 2017 after surging by 25% in a single year, a United Nations report found. Of the 1,976 tonnes of 100% pure cocaine produced, a record 1,275 were seized by authorities – but UNODC estimates cocaine was consumed by 18.1million people worldwide in 2017.
