Drugs might be killing twice as many than previously thought

Government records might be severely underreporting how many americans die from drug use, according to University of Pennsylvania and Georgetown University. Their researchers analyzed over 44million death certificates issued nationwide over 18 years to identify almost 670,000 deaths coded as drug-related – 142,000 people died due to drug use in 2016 alone.
