Comments on record rise in UK alcohol deaths

The Office for National Statistics revealed a record rise in deaths caused by alcohol misuse last year, linked to Covid curbs. There were 8,974 alcohol deaths in 2020, 18.6% over 2019 and the largest rise since records began in 2001. We’ve collated responses from the field.
