Labour’s shadow justice secretary Steve Reed said the mayor won’t be given powers to legalise cannabis if the party wins the next election. Reed, a former leader of Lambeth Borough Council, said he had previously struggled to tackle a drug problem in Brixton and would not support relaxing laws.
