IAS disappointed in Chancellor’s growth plan

The Chancellor of the Exchequer’s Growth Plan 2022 plans to tackle the rising cost of living and inflation – including freezing alcohol duty from February 2023. “This means less revenue in real terms at a time when… deaths from alcohol are at record highs and alcohol harm is projected to worsen,” the Institute of Alcohol Studies responded.
