In The History of the Methadone Treatment Protocol, Service User and Provider Views and Challenges and Developments, Ide Delargy, Des Crowley and Marie Claire Van Hout found that over 10,000 people are on methadone treatment in Ireland, with 40% treated in general practice but that patients have negative views on how methadone services are delivered.
