Identifying substance use risk based on deep neural networks & Instagram data

Dartmouth College in New Hampshire developed a deep-learning method to automatically classify people’s risk for alcohol, tobacco & drug use based on content from their Instagram profiles – a test set of 228 people showed that the method can estimate the risk of alcohol abuse with statistical significance.
