House passes Bill to extend DEA ban on fentanyl variants

The House of Representatives passed a bill to temporarily extend the Drug Enforcement Administration class-wide ban on all variants of the powerful synthetic drug fentanyl, which helped fuel the opioid crisis. The bill will now make its way to President Donald Trump for his signature before the DEA’s temporary powers on fentanyl analogues expire on 6 February.
